RAFFLE RULES & REGULATIONS
Entry purchaser, and anyone to whom an entry purchaser legally transfers an entry, must be an individual 21 years or older at time of entry purchase. Only one individual may be identified as the purchaser (or buyer) of the raffle entry. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All email communications, including ticket purchase confirmation, will be sent to the email address supplied during the purchase. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide a valid, deliverable mailing address and/or email address to the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes, and its agents, Board, vendors, volunteers and members assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, undelivered entries or entries without proper payment received, which entries shall be deemed invalid and shall be immediately disqualified.
It is acknowledged that circumstances (illness, death in family, work, etc.) may intervene following award of the Grand Prize, preventing the winner from receiving the award. In that case, it will be acceptable for the winner to designate an alternate to take his/her place. Notification must be made to the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes no later than March 1, 2014 to allow coordination with The Phoenician hotel.
Rotary Club of Sun Lakes members are not eligible to participate in the Raffle.
By entering the Raffle, the entry purchaser acknowledges that he or she is aware of, and agrees to abide by, the Official Raffle rules and regulations.
Winning raffle numbers will be drawn the evening of January 21, 2014. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (MST) on December 31, 2013 to be eligible for these drawings. The winners will be contacted by telephone and/or email, as well as announced on the website www.spring-getaway.com on January 22, 2014.
RETURN AND CANCELLATION POLICY
All purchases of Raffle entries are non-refundable, with one exception. If there are not sufficient numbers of entries to permit recovery of expenses, the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes reserves the right to return all monies since this raffle is being conducted to raise money for its many charities.
Three prizes will be awarded;
- Grand Prize — one week at The Phoenician resort in Scottsdale, AZ
As an alternative to the Spring-Getaway vacation stated in our ad, the winner may take cash, in which case, he/she would receive a Cashier’s Check for $10,000 ($5,000 for the 6-night stay at The Phoenician resort in Scottsdale, $4,000 for travel, and $1,000 for spending). The alternative must be taken before February 15, 2014.
- Second Prize — $2,500 cash
- Third Prize — $1,000 cash
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS
All winners will be notified by email or by phone of the prize won and any requisite procedure to claim the prize. All winners, by entering, authorize the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes to publish their name and likeness on the website and for it to be used in other promotional materials of the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes.
TAXES AND IRS RULES
No purchases of Raffle tickets are tax-deductible. All cash prizes will be paid net of applicable income tax withholding. All winners shall be responsible for federal, state, and local income or excise taxes, fees, assessments and like charges associated with the prizes.
WAIVER/LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Entry purchasers, by participating (and winners, by accepting a prize) release the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes and its respective board, committee members, volunteers, partners, vendors, agents, representatives, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, and each of their respective directors, officers, partners, employees and agents, including advertising, public relations, direct marketing and promotion agencies, from any and all liability with respect to participation in the promotion and possession or use of the prize awarded and also acknowledge that they did not receive any representations, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition, or fitness.
Any liability of the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes shall be limited to ticket price paid and in the case of any dispute, the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes’ decision shall be final.
The Rotary Club of Sun Lakes reserves the right to modify or amend the Official Raffle Rules without notice at any time.
- Jay Jones, Arizona Rotary District 5510 Governor, will conduct the drawing on January 21, 2014.
- Members of Sun Lakes Rotary are not eligible to enter.
- The Grand Prize Spring Getaway vacation will be March 14 through March 20, 2014.
- Sun Lakes Rotary is conducting this raffle to raise money for our many charities. If for some reason, we do not have a sufficient number of entries to permit recovery of our expenses, we reserve the right to return the money.
- While this Raffle is being run through our 501(c)3 Foundation, purchases of tickets are not tax deductible.
- Laws governing participation in raffles vary by region. Confirm your eligibility before entering.
- Must be 21 to enter.
- Taxes are the responsibility of the prize winners.
